Since our 25th reunion I've been
divorced, moved to Okla.City, and gone back to school at OSU in Okla.
City. I then moved my Dad to Pauls Valley to be closer to his brothers,
finished raising my 5 children (youngest is now finishing college) and
raised 2 foster kids. Eventually Dad's condition deteriorated and he had to go to the nursing home. Shortly afterward the May 3, 1999, tornado wiped out the small town my oldest daughter and her family lived in, taking with it their home and jobs. By the way pigs do fly. It became more economically feasible for them to move in with me, pig and all. Dad has now passed away and we are in the process of settling the estate and trying to decide what to do next. After having been a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout den mother since ''79, I finally have been promoted to neighborhood Troop Consultant, gopher and gatherer. (For those unfamiliar with scout rankings, troop consultant is below assistant leader - meaning I am a warm body able to stand in when needed to maintain the required adult-girl ratio; gopher - I go for needed supplies at camp and other events; gatherer - example 45 coffee cans for buddy burners, find directions and supplies to make...?) The same unique skills of mine have also been utilized for VBS. UMW and the nursing home. My hobbies included crocheting, tatting, quilting, and now surfing the net. So many patterns, so little time, but my 12 grandchildren and gr-grandson need more blankets, sweaters and doll clothes. |
