After high school, I continued to work for the theatres and stayed in
Pampa for a while, then managed several towns in Texas, Oklahoma and New
Mexico. In 1960 I married Jackie Miller, and we lived in five
different towns before our first-born, Troy Don, came into our lives in
1962.
In 1964 while living in Vinita, Oklahoma, Becky Kay arrived on the scene.
Later I joined the Fort Worth Police Department and remained for several
years. I went back into the theatre business for a few years. I owned and
operated a drive-in theatre in Dallas along with a construction company
for several years.
In 1975 on New Years Eve, I married Debbie who had a beautiful, two year
old daughter, Missy. We lived in Dallas until 1985 when we moved to San
Angelo, Texas. We owned the Santa Fe Junction Night Club. After
being drunk for 7 Years (correction I was drunk 7 years) Debbie sobered up
in 1988 when Joshua Alan was born. We moved to Oklahoma City and lived
there for 7 Years. We have lived in Royse City, Texas for 7 years now.
Hell, I just figured out we must have had the 7-year itch.
We have four wonderful children: Troy, Becky, Missy and Joshua.
Joshua just graduated from high school and is working full time as an IT
Technician and going to college at Collin County. Yes, at the 40th
reunion, I was the only one there that had to have a baby sitter.
Recall that you gave me the Old Geezer Award. But that was OK
because the reunion before that I got the Fertile Turtle Award.
I have had a great life ... two wonderful wives who gave me four children
of whom I am very proud and grandchildren that I don’t get to see enough.
Retirement is not in the cards for me. I still work every day. I work at
the Rockwall County Sheriff's Office in Rockwall, Texas. I teach at the
Police Academy.
Some of the subjects are:
1. Female anatomy by the brail system.
2. How to get drunk and not get caught while on duty
3. How to convince your wife the lipstick on your collar came from
arresting a prostitute.
4. How to search women, and make them like it.
5. How to not have fun in jail.
6. How to make you believe this Bull_____
We don’t do a lot of traveling like a lot of you have, but last year we
did go to Dallas to Wal-Mart.
At this time it doesn’t look like that I will get to come to the 50th this
year. Debbie has had surgery, and I think I had better stay close to home. |
