After attending junior college, I graduated from North Texas in 1963. While at North Texas, I met and married Lynda Dennard. My first job was with the Whitesboro Independent School District as a teacher and coach. We stayed in Whitesboro four years where our first child was born, a daughter whom we named Carrie.

 In 1967 we moved to Sherman where I went to work for the Grayson County Health Department. I was employed there for five years. In 1972  I went to work for the Texoma Regional Planning Commission where I stayed for the next fifteen years, the last five as the Executive Director.

In 1972 our second child, Chad, was born.  Both Chad and Carrie are teachers. Carrie is a fifth grade teacher in the Prairieland CSD. She has two children, a son who is a freshman this year and a daughter, who is a first grader. Chad is an elementary art teacher in the Frisco ISD. He has three children, a son who is a first grader and twins that will be three in December.  Both of the kids have made us very proud, and the grandkids are a delight.

In May of 1987 I became City Manager in Denison and remain in that capacity today. The people of Denison have been very kind to Lynda and me, and it is our intention to remain here after retirement, if that ever occurs.
