I left Pampa 13 days after graduation. I transferred from the Marine Corps to the Army. I was in basic training in Fort Collins CO. on June 13. I spent my Military Career 1958 to 1964 as a Military Policeman. I was stationed at West Point, NY, Korea, Okinawa and several other stateside bases. I was a Sergeant when discharged.

It was in NJ that I met Margie Malone, and we were married before I was discharged. We returned to Texas where I went to work as a police officer in Borger.

In 1976 I left Borger and worked for several police departments in Texas, one of which was Pampa. When I worked in Pampa I was always having to make calls to Caldwells.

Before moving from Borger we had two boys Jerry Jr. and Michael.  Both are Police Officers today. They each have two sons which I am very proud of.  In 1969 we moved to NJ, and I went to work as a police officer on the Red Bank Police Department. After 3 years of race riots we moved back to Borger where I went to work for the Borger Police Department. During this time I attended Frank Phillips college and received my AAS Degree. I continued my college courses. My wife and I went to WTA&M until I lost her to cancer December 23, 1995. We had been happily married for 32 years. I dropped out of WT. I was the Deputy Chief at this time.

I met a wonderful woman from Stinnett, Belinda Britain.  She has two daughters. Belinda and I were married on August 1, 1997 in Graham where one of her daughters lives. I was lucky in finding her but also in my career as I was promoted to Chief of Police in 1997. I retired as Chief of Police after 39 years in Public Service, a career serving the people.  I enjoyed it and have no regrets about my career choice.

Since retiring I have moved to Graham where we are closer to the granddaughters,  ages 12 and 6. We see them at least two to three time a week and enjoy every minute of it. I see Jerry Jr. and his two sons when I go to the Dallas area. I thought Jerry's career was ended last Aug. when he was shot twice with a shot gun. He was lucky as he just lost his eye but is still working. I also get to see Michael and his two sons when I go to Amarillo. I enjoy all six of my grand kids.

I work every once in awhile just to keep busy and to get out of the house. I don't think I will be at the reunion as we never know when we will be taking care of the granddaughters
