After graduating from PHS, I went to West Texas State College and graduated in 1963 with a degree in Business Management.  I returned to Pampa and went to work for Cities Service Gas Company.  In that same year I transferred to Ulysses KS.

In October of 1963, I was drafted into the Army.  I took my basic training at Ft. Polk, LA, and from there I went to Ft. McClellan, AL where I spent the remainder of my time in the military.   It was there in Anniston, Alabama that I met Gail Parrott, and we were married in June 1965.  We were blessed with the birth of our daughter, Angie, in 1967 and our son, Scott, in 1970.

I was discharged from the Army in October of 1965 and moved to Blackwell, OK to resume my career with Cities Service. From there we made successive moves to Ulysses, KS, Guymon, OK, Chanute, KS, Lawrence, KS, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Knob Noster, MO, back to Tulsa and then settled in Owasso, OK.

Cities Service was sold to The Williams Company in the early 1980’s and became known as Williams Natural Gas Company.  I retired from Williams in 1995 and have been working as a contractor for them since them.  The old Cities Service Gas Company sold again and is now Southern Star Central Pipeline Co. with headquarters in Owensboro, KY.  I go to Owensboro occasionally for a week or so but normally work here in Tulsa.

Angie and Scott and their spouses live here in Owasso, so we are able to watch our three grandsons Alex, 11, Avery, 8, and Ryan 6 grow up. Between basketball, football, baseball, soccer, we stay busy going from one to the other.

Since our retirement and in between ballgames we have done some traveling.  We have been to Hawaii, took an Alaskan cruise, a Caribbean cruise, driven to the New England states, California, Yellowstone and various other places in the U.S.
