A brief eulogy from his daughter, Sharon
Billy Ray's death was not known until a year
after his passing. Attempts to obtain his obituary were not successful;
however, his daughter, Sharon, volunteered this information about her father.
His obituary was in the Pampa News of October 5th 2005, though it was no longer
available.
He was very happy living on his little country farm in Frogville, Oklahoma,
raising cows and watching his grandchildren grow. Christ was always first
in his life.
My brother lived down the road and was his joy in life. He loved watching
the Dallas Cowboys on TV. He was also a huge Pampa Harvesters football fan
and had reserved seats until he moved to Oklahoma in 1975. Even then, he
kept up with them through me. (We now have reserved seats and never miss a
Harvester game). Our son, Billy's grandson, is the assistant
director of the pride of the Pampa band, and my husband, Ronnie, is ''the voice
of the Pampa band'' during half time.
Good luck to your class, and I hope you all have a great reunion!
Sincerely,
Sharon Holmes
