In April of 1957 I had a blind date with an airman from Amarillo AFB, Harry Moreland. In September of that year we were married and moved to Amarillo. We spent the next 23 years moving around all over the States and also the Philippines for 3 years.  In 1980 we retired from the Air Force and moved to southern Illinois.  We built a log cabin in the country and it has been home ever since.

The past few years we have  enjoyed traveling.  In 1996 we went on a tour of Ireland, and in 1997 we went on a tour of Germany, Switzerland, France and Austria.

Both were great trips. Then we discovered Hawaii in 1999. We stayed at Waikiki Beach, in Oahu, then flew to the island of Kauai and went on a helicopter tour of the Island.  Last year, for our 45th anniversary, we went back to Oahu. From there we flew to the Big Island of Hawaii and toured the volcano. That was really something to see.  So this year for our anniversary, we will be at our class reunion.

We have two children, Alan and his wife live in Herrin, IL, and our daughter, Brenda, lives in Murfreesboro, TN.  We have four grandchildren. Two in college and two in the Army. Our oldest granddaughter just returned from Kuwait, and her husband returned from Iraq. They are stationed at Fort Sam Houston, TX. So I'm sure we will be going to see them soon.  Hope everyone has a safe trip, and we will see you in Pampa in September.

2008 Update.

My husband and I celebrated our 50th Anniversary last September.  Our children and grandchildren gave us a wonderful garden party at our home.  We live out in the country, and our land is very beautiful that time of year.

I have had several surgeries this past year, but that's another story.  I am fine now and back to normal (as normal as I can get, says my husband!!).  One of our granddaughters added two more to our family tree.  Katelin is 3.5 years old and Jacob is 1.5.  We have two grandsons, both 24, and not married yet.  And another granddaughter that's not married yet too.

We plan on coming to the reunion and we'll see everyone then!!--
