Grover N. “Blackie”
Black, 64, of Pampa, died Thursday, Dec. 19. 2002.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday in Fairview Cemetery with
the Rev. Ronnie Goode, associate pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church, and Lonny
Robbins, pastor of the church, officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral
Directors of Pampa.
Born July 6, 1938, at
Pampa, Mr. Black had been a longtime Liberal, Kan., resident, working as a
dispatcher for Yellow Freight Company in Liberal for 17 years. He returned to Pampa in 1995 and was a photographer for The
Pampa News.
He married Louisa Perez on
Sept. 1, 1992, at Liberal. He was a
member of Trinity Fellowship Church, was a past member of Liberal Masonic Lodge
and was a Harvest House volunteer.
He enjoyed flying.
He was preceded in death by
a son, Michael Keith Black.
Survivors include his wife,
Louisa, of the home; a daughter, Katrina Miller of Sharon Springs, Kan.; three
sons, Luez Aguilar, David Perez, and Joshua Dave Perez, all of the home; two
sisters, Elnora Haynes of Pampa and Charlotte Schiffman of Fort Worth; a
brother, Terry Black of Skellytown; and four grandchildren.
