Two Pampa Men Killed In Crash

Groom - Two Pampa men died when a Ford pickup truck in which they were riding crashed into a Rock Island train at Jericho, 10 miles east of here. The dead are: Boyd Bennet, 43; and Leland Dorman, 20. They were employees of Groninger & King Pipeline Company, Pampa.
A third man, Don Gallaher, 20, survived the crash. A Clarendon veterinary, Charles E. Deyhle, took Gallaher to Groom Hospital. Gallaher was badly bruised, but his condition is not considered critical.
The men were returning from
Sonora in a company truck when they hit the train.
This tragedy occurred at 11 pm Monday.
Mr. Bennet is survived by a wife and two children. Mr. Dorman was unmarried. Funeral arrangements are pending with Duenkel-Carmichael Funeral Home, Pampa.
Mr. Dorman, 619 S. Ballard, was born in Skellytown and lived in Pampa 20 years. He was a Groninger & King pipeline worker and a member of the Marine Reserve Corp. and Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Dorman of Pampa and his mother Mrs. Ruby Smertely of Sun Valley, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Juanita Farmer of Los Angeles, Calif.
