OBITUARY
June 4, 1939 - July 30, 2007

Beth's obituary was reported in the Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 2, 2007 edition; however, it was severely shortened by the paper. Beth's oldest daughter, Teresa, sent this obituary to me for the website.
Dora Elizabeth (Beth) Keelin Turner was born on June 4, 1939 to
Wesley and Dorothy Keelin in Wheeler, Texas. She passed from the earthly life
to her long awaited heavenly one on July 30, 2007 in Lockney.
She married Jesse (J.W.) Turner on May 25, 1956 in Pampa, Texas. From this
union, 2 children were born - Teresa Rochelle and Stephen Grant. Throughout her
life, Beth enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. Early in her children's lives,
she was active in her local church teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School
and singing in the choir. Later, as her children grew up, she began her own
business at home decorating cakes. Her health declined, but not her enthusiasm
and love for arts and crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse of 51 years from Matador. Her daughter,
Teresa Culbertson and husband John and their girls, Alisha, Alana and Alydia
from San Angelo. Her son, Stephen Turner and wife Melissa and the only grandson
Carl from Vincennes, IN. She is also survived by Jesse's siblings that she
considered her brother and sister - NOT in-laws. They are Davie and Vangie
Turner and Bob & Maurita Pitman - all from Pampa. She is also survived by one
sister - Twaunah Keelin also from Pampa. Several
nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews will miss their Aunt Beth as
well as many cousins and friends.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved in-laws, C.H. and Reda
Turner from Wheeler as well as 2 brothers.
We, as a family, would like to thank everyone at the Lockney Rehab facility for
all their care and support for the last 5 years. Mom truly thought of you as
part of her family.
Thank-you Mom for teaching us about Jesus. God heard you and saw that you had
suffered enough and called you home. We will miss you. Philippians 1:3
"I thank my God in all my remembrance of you"

Beth's oldest daughter, Teresa, provided us a bio of her mother for the website when we first published this in 2003. Beth had had a stoke the prior year preventing her from penning the bio herself. Obviously, there is some amount of repetition with the above obituary, but it's included here so that any additional information that it may contain is preserved.
Beth's earlier website biography
I married J.W. Turner in May, 1956 in Pampa. After working in So. Dakota, J.W. went into the army in October of 1958 and returned to Pampa after his discharge. In August of 1961, we had our first child, a daughter - Teresa Rochelle. Nineteen months later, our son, Stephen Grant was born. Teresa and her husband gave us 3 granddaughters: Alisha (15), Alana (13) and Alydia (12). Stephen and his wife, Melissa gave us a grandson, Carl, who just turned 4.
J.W. went to work for West Texas Utilities Electric Co. in 1966. We have lived in Vernon, Shamrock, Quitaque and then, finally, Matador, where J.W. retired. I retired in 1990 after 18 years of baking and decorating cakes and pies. Since then I have made centerpieces for a banquet each year in Mobeetie.
In July 2002, I had a stroke limiting my mobility. I am still in rehab and help teach crafts.
