IOWA PARK — George H. Taylor, age 68, died Thursday, September 4, 2008, in Henrietta, Texas.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008, at Holliday Cemetery with Rev. Leo Hargis officiating. Services have been entrusted to Dutton Funeral Home.
George was born November 20, 1939, in Shattuck, Oklahoma, to Herbert J. and Ruth F. Taylor. He graduated in 1959 from Pampa High School. He and Helen Gann were married March 31, 1979, in Wichita Falls. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. George worked for United Food Stores, as a manager, in the Pampa area for several years prior to coming to the Iowa Park area. He retired after 37 years with United Food Stores. He has lived in Iowa Park for 37 years.
He is preceded in death by his father, wife and a son, Donnie.
His survivors include a son, Ronnie of Iowa Park; mother, Ruth Taylor of Pampa, Texas; stepdaughters, Lana Meek of Iowa Park, and Angela Wilbourn of Wichita Falls, Texas; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jackie and Carolyn Taylor and Larry and Janet Taylor of Pampa, Texas, and Sonny and Mary Bates of Henrietta, Texas; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Beth Bates of Iowa Park.
